New Mexico Soil & Water Conservation Districts
New Mexico's 47 Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCDs) work with landowners, communities, farmers, ranchers, and public agencies to conserve soil, water, and other natural resources. Through technical assistance, education, and locally driven conservation projects, SWCDs help improve watershed health, reduce erosion, enhance water quality, and promote sustainable land stewardship across the state.

The University of New Mexico Department of Geography & Environmental Studies prepares students to understand the relationships between people, place, and the environment through interdisciplinary education and research.
